Making TROUBLE IN THE LAND has been an incredible journey.  It started in 2010 at the magical Waterfall House, an old inn in the Catskills of New York with a 100' waterfall crashing behind it.  We spent a couple weeks swimming in the river, watching the summer stars and recording the basic tracks of the CD. Over these last four years we have taken the beautiful seed of those recordings and meditated on the songs, the grooves, and have been in a process of cross continental collaboration. These photos were taken by our dear friend, photographer AUGUSTA QUIRK, who beautifully captured the magic and the excitement of the inital recordings, where the spirits of Haiti, Niger, and North America wove a beautiful tapestry of music, love, dance, friendship and waterfalls.
